Reverend Kenneth B. Green is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church.  He is a fourth generation Prairie View A&M University graduate from Marlin, Texas.  His formal theological education was completed at Perkins School of Theology, Southern Methodist University having been conferred the Master of Divinity degree.

Pastor Green has served in the Texas Annual Conference since 1992.  His pastoral journey began at Davis Chapel United Methodist Church of Marlin, Texas.  He also served as Wesley Foundation Director at Texas Southern University.  Additional pastoral assignments include First United Methodist Church in College Station. Texas as well as St Paul United Methodist Church of Galveston, Texas..  He has led mission experiences to Jamaica, Costa Rica, North Carolina and numerous local missions opportunities.

Reverend Green comes from a preaching a family.  Both his parents serve United Methodist congregations.  Reverends Leo and Ethelene Green reside in Marlin, Texas.  He is the very proud father of two sons, Marcus and Jeremiah.  Felecia Green Johnson is his very supportive sister who is an active member of New World United Methodist Church.  A great part of his knowledge and wisdom comes from sitting at the feet of his ninety eight year old grandmother, A. Octavia Sherman.

He deems it a great honor to be serving at Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, "The People's Church" at this time in her history.
